Coach Parker! What an impact you made on a young man back in the early 70's at Linkhorne Middle School 72/73 The year that we had Leon Jones, John Swett, and a host of great athleles. I remember of course "Parker Hill" or better known as "Sucide Hill" I believe we lost one game maybe two that season. I learned a lot from you, and you inspired me greatly, now years later never forgotten! I remember that year you cut your Country Album and my Dad the late Warren Smith (played with Ronnie Wilson some and Earl Bared) said, "..watch out son Mel Parker is another "voice" like the late Vern Gosden" and he was so right! I was country with you when Country wasn't cool! Now I enjoy continuing working with some of the finest entertainers in the country. Thanks for the memories!
Get the Picture - Mel Parker [4:31] lyrics

"Get the Picture" is a catchy, soulful country tune by Mel Parker based out of Lynchburg, Virginia. It is about people learning to choose what to think. All download fees are being donated to The Fibromuscular Dysplasia Society of America.

Hi Mel,

First of all sorry about the generic aspect of this email but we wanted to let all the artists who are under consideration for our Just Cause CDs know where we stand.

We received well over 500 submissions and pared that down significantly. From what we selected for consideration we have sketched a couple of CDs and will be in touch with those artists shortly.

In the meantime we have added an artist links scenario to our site which should help you in regards to your own exposure. As far as the actual site goes, without originally intending to, it has evolved into a great selection of music from all over the world.

We will be enhancing the design shortly and then we will begin to aggressively promote it to the media as a place to listen to and buy socially conscious music while supporting some great good cause organizations. We really have done that as of yet even though we are getting some traffic and have had some donated downloads which is great.

When we are ready to start our media blitz we will send you a press release which you may want to forward to your own local media, as obviously the more traffic the better for all involved. And of course as you know, it truthfully is all for a good cause.

Once again any questions ask away.

Best regards

Wow, the County line show went real well, I was very pleased the large crowd got into the music. My other big news, my daughter Wisty called and told me she had heard my song "Four Yellow Wheels"on the national radio show Car Talk...Many thanks to "Click and Clack" for playing my song about Vernon Thompson's 1931 Model A Ford on CarTALK. Thanks to Dale Thompson for playing and Rich Hohl for suggesting

My New song "County Line" seemed to go over well at the County Line today. If you happen to have been in the crowd at the county Line today and heard my song. I would love to hear your opinion...I also did another new tune of mine..." Thunderbird Wine" I was pleased at it's reception. I'll be back at the County Line on Saturday morning September 4th at 10 am.
Come on down to the County Line.
Thanks,
Mel Parker
