Please to report the unoffical results of Wisty accomplishment…she completed the 13.1 miles in 2 hr and 14 minutes with an average mile time of 10.23 and in the process raised over $1300. for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This was a team effort supported by Jeremy, Henry and Owen. Proud of all of you for a job well done.
Remember that on Friday night, October 14, 2011, we have a party room at the Holiday Inn starting at 9:30 p.m. after the Welcome Back Dinner. Mel (Cut-worm) Parker (who cannot be with us) has nevertheless provided the entertainment for the party room by sending to me 3 CDs of his songs, written and performed by him with a decided country turn, to play while we gather. My favorites so far are “Let’s Go See Willie” and “Horny Blues.” Willie Nelson and Trace Adkins have nothing on Cut-worm. Go to melparker.com for more info.
I am checking with the Holiday Inn on their sound system in the party room. As a backup, I need for someone to bring a portable CD player (a boom box) for this purpose. Who will volunteer? The singing and music are really very good and it makes me remember that Cut-worm would, on occasion, entertain us with a dance and a little harmonica music at R-MA.
This gathering promises to be a once in a lifetime celebration of nostalgia, remembrance and endurance. Angie and Tom Kalogeras and Jan and I look forward to seeing you at R-MA, early and late.
Everything was special, the weather was wonderful, the crowd was large and a great audience, and the first national flea day was special. Thanks for all of the thumbs up, smiles and applause.

I don’t know who Mel Parker is but I can tell you that his version of “Oh Shenandoah” is truly remarkable. I found this track on accident and it was best accidental discovery I have ever made on Amazon. A great MP3 download!
